MEET THE TEAM

Gregory Huefner, MSPT received his Bachelor‘s Degree in Chemistry and Biology from Gannon University (Erie, Pennsylvania) in 1989 and his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 1992 from Washington University Medical School (St. Louis, Missouri). Greg has an extensive background in Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Physical Therapy. Prior to that, Greg worked for the United States Public Health Service at the Yakama Indian Health Center. Greg’s professional experience also includes positions at the Center for Sports Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, Pa.), the Center for Health Promotions (Portland, Maine), and Sports Medicine Fairbanks (Fairbanks, Alaska). For seven years, Greg worked for Pro-Motion Physical Therapy in Yakima.

In addition, Greg has continued to expand his expertise in manual therapy, functional evaluation and treatment techniques, and biomechanics. Greg also has extensive training in lymphedema therapy, management of the diabetic foot, and ski boot fitting.

Outside of physical therapy, Greg’s interests include kayaking, skiing, running and hiking. Greg is also a member of White Pass Ski Patrol.

Mary Riehl, MSPT, a Yakima native, graduated from Eisenhower high school in 1985 and attended Washington State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology. She received her Physical Therapy degree form Northwestern University School of Medicine, Chicago, IL in 1990 and then went on to specialize in Orthopedic Physical Therapy at the Krannert Graduate School of Physical Therapy-University of Indianapolis, receiving her Masters Degree, Orthopedic Emphasis in 1993. Mary was a Physical Therapist for Methodist Hospital of Indiana (Indianapolis) where in addition to experience in Adult Neurology/Spinal Cord, Inpatient Burn Unit, and Acute Care, she worked primarily in the Outpatient Orthopedic venue. There she had the opportunity to work with the Indianapolis Colts, the Indiana Pacers, and the Indianapolis 500 drivers. Her professional experience also includes positions at Methodist Occupational Health Centers (Indianapolis), Yakima Valley Memorial Sport Therapy Clinic, and for the last 19 years, Northwest Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine (formerly known as Orthopedic Physical Therapy.)

An avid runner, and former collegiate volleyball player, Mary has a unique interest in the biomechanics of running, and in injuries unique to the throwing or overhead athlete. She believes strongly that old or young, large or small, there is an athlete in everyone.

In her spare time, she can be found climbing, running, hiking and skiing in the Cascade Mountains or enjoying time with her husband Doran, and two daughters.

Samantha C. Kline, PT, DPT, MTC graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science. In 2015, Samantha went on to earn a
Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine (Florida). Thereafter, she returned to the University of St. Augustine (Texas) to attain her Manual Therapy Certification.

Samantha began her career as a physical therapist for Centura Health in Pueblo, Colorado where she supported the acute inpatient wing as well as Outpatient Orthopedics Sports and
Spine clinic. Two years later, Samantha transitioned into travel physical therapy, where she garnered diverse experiences from various clinics in the states of Maryland and Ohio. From 2019-2021, Samantha served as the Assistant Director of West Star Physical Therapy Network where she worked in Personal Injury and Worker Compensation among multiple locations in Greater Los Angeles County. Most recently, Samantha has developed a specialization in treating Pediatrics Bowel and Bladder Dysfunction.

In her leisure time, she enjoys weight lifting, running, golfing, snowboarding, pickleball, and spending time with friends and family while exploring all that Washington has to offer.

Heidi started her Physical Therapy education at California State University, Fresno earning both her Bachelor’s and Masters in PT with a minor in Exercise Physiology in 1996. In the fall of 2008, she continued her education  earning her doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) in the spring of 2009, from Northeastern University. Her background consists of over 25 years of experience in sub acute rehab with special emphasis in geriatrics, wound care, pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation, orthopedics and pelvic health. Heidi’s focus at Peak Performance Sports & Spine is generalized orthopedic care and the specialized and innovative techniques used to treat pelvic problems in both men and women in addition to addressing health issues specific to women. Heidi has taken numerous courses in the advancing and expanding field of pelvic therapy to keep current with cutting-edge techniques and approaches. She continues to attend at least one or two courses a year to make sure her treatment techniques are progressive and inventive. Most recently in the area of Vestibular  and Concussion rehabilitation  Her goal is to provide personalize treatment plans, while empowering patients with the knowledge to manage symptoms and achieve their goals.

Outside of physical therapy, Heidi enjoys hiking, outdoor adventurous, tending to her beautiful yard, keeping us with her three college kids, and training for triathlons!
